Mizzou started their football season tonight with a win.  They are ranked 6th in the nation but their defense needs to play better or they will only beat teams by outscoring them similar to what they did last year.  You can’t win the big games that way.  Exciting and scary at the same time.  Had a great day today with the weather.  I’ve officially given up on the Cardinals for this season.  They had a chance to play for the offseason but the front office wouldn’t pull any trades or sign any significant help to correct an absolutely horrid bullpen situation that has cost them 20+ games in the standings.  Even if half of those games were turned around, they would have the offseason well in hand but that’s not the case.  They are playing for next year while selling 3.4 million tickets in their new(ish) ballpark.  If I hear another report that the owners of the team aren’t making a profit I think I will burn all of my Cardinal wear and become a fan of the Boston Red Sox.
