clintI’ve been wanting to watch Gran Torino since I first started hearing whispers of how good it was.  Today, I went to our local theater to check it out with my wife’s uncle and I’m glad I did.  I’ve always been a Clint Eastwood fan and he came through in what has been labeled as his last on screen main acting role.  He’s been doing great behind the cameras producing and directing movies and he’s always been a great actor.

The movie unexpectedly provided the audience several instances of laughter usually at the expense of racial stereotypes and jokes.  Eastwood’s character was a racially charged Korean War veteran and he was one to speak his mind… like many people from that generation.  Overall, the movie was really good and worth watching at the theater.

Tomorrow is the day the NFL Super Bowl participants will be found out.  The Arizona Cardinals play in the early game and I’m hoping they can pull off an ultimate upset and head to the big game.  As for the AFC, I’m thinking the Steelers are going to find their way to the championship.  I’ll be rooting for the Cardinals and the Steelers.

I did get a chance to watch a few movies this week.  Here’s a quick rundown:  My Best Friend’s Girl – Hilarious… if you can stand the language, Bangkok Dangerous – Couldn’t stand it, couldn’t even finish it… The Family That Preys – Another good movie given to us by Tyler Perry, worth the rent, Mirrors – Not bad for a thriller/horrer movie, worth a buck, and Appaloosa – A good western, but not nearly as good as I was hoping, worth a buck.
