Today was the day of the final regular season game for Mizzou’s football team.  The game was versus their arch rival and nemesis, Kansas.  While the game usually offers some fireworks, today was hopefully going to be a tuneup for the Big 12 Championship versus a very dominant opponent.  Well, as you must expect from the title of today’s Muse, Mizzou didn’t come away victorious.  Kansas simply outplayed, outgutted, and outsmarted Mizzou in the game today and left Mizzou staggering towards the season’s finish line with a 9-3 record, likely to be 9-4 before their less than spectacular bowl invite unless they pull of a miracle in the Big 12 Championship game.

Many people were riding high on the Mizzou bandwagon this year and their ranking got as high as second in the nation at one point but everything came crashing to the ground with consecutive losses to Oklahoma State and then Texas.  Today’s loss was a crushing loss for the team’s psyche and I doubt they will be able to pull themselves together in their next game.  I knew from week one this team had too many defensive weaknesses to be taken seriously as a national title contender, but I still rooted them on even through the bad times.  I will even root them on as I see their team get lit up in their next game too.  I’ll eat all the crow in the county if I’m proven wrong and they come out victorious.

My wife and I watched a couple of movies today.  I stopped by the RedBox and gave the movie “Full Ride” a try.  I thought it was a new release because it was a recent addition and the photo was on the board.  Turns out it was from 2002 and it was a stinker.  Horrible acting and corny, bypass please.  I also rented Hellboy 2 even though I haven’t seen Hellboy 1.  I wanted to see the action scenes and I wasn’t disappointed.  The movie itself was fairly unappealing, but the action and graphics were nice to watch.  Now, I’m catching part of Ace Ventura on cable while getting ready for sleep.
