Had to make my post about yesterday this morning… we got in around 1:00. The concert was fantastic. I had seen Metallica in 2003 when they were at the Jones Dome in St. Louis and this time, the concert was at the Scottrade Center (hockey/basketball arena). What made the concert even more special is the band was setup in the middle of the floor so people surrounded them rather than everyone directly facing the stage at one end of the floor. That made it awesome, you felt like you were IN the concert.
Metallica played half their new album live and the new songs play great live, the crowd really got into the entire show. They threw in some awesome pyrotechnics and really cool coffins with mounted lights and some laser shows. All in all, the concert was great when Metallica was on the stage and the crowd responded in turn. Ok, so where was I in the mix? Try front row, less than a few feet away from the band… I never expected to be that close but wow, it was a great experience. Making eye contact with the band was something I would never have guessed I would be able to do and I did. The concert was easily the best I’ve ever been to.
Also, my nephew, deer hunting for the first time got a spike buck in less than an hour yesterday. Lucky and good! I’m not heading out this morning because I’m tired, but I may head out this afternoon and try my luck. I saw a 4 pointer in the road less than half a mile from my house on the way home last night though. I hope it’s not the only deer I see this season…
