We went out for a full day of deer hunting today and we were left hanging.  No deer in sight.  The picture is what I stared out for hours on end today with nothing but birds and squirrels around.  There wasn’t much shooting around us yesterday or today so I don’t know if there just aren’t that many deer in the area or what.  Oh well, hopefully tomorrow will give us a shot at a deer and then everything will be worth it!

Tonight we went to a deer cookout to celebrate my nephew’s 13th birthday and the beginning of his journey to becoming a man.  He was the center of attention as he has killed 2 deer on his first huntring trip.  My brother-in-law gave him his deer rifle as a surprise gift by earning his trust as a hunter.  Family traditions have to begin somewhere and I believe last night was the beginning of a great one for their family.  Congratulations Logan!
