Outside of your close family members, does it feel like you are mostly talking to the walls?  Of course the term “walls” is a metaphor for “people.”  It seems like most everyone in the world today is walking around consumed by their own needs and direction.  The idea of thinking of others is so rare that when something decent does happen, it feels like an extraordinary event.  Anyway, the Red Sox were tanking tonight until the last couple of innings.  They were down 7 to 0 late in the game and if they were to continue and lose, their season is over.  Well, they have since tied the game heading into the 9th inning.  If they can pull this game out, it will surely help their team’s psyche and could make for an entertaining game or two to decide who goes to the World Series to face the Phillies.  Back to talking to the walls.  At least they aren’t rubber or padded.

Update:  The Red Sox won in the bottom of the 9th.  They scored 8 runs in the last 3 innings to dig themselves out from a 7-0 hole.  Now they are on to game 6 in Tampa Bay.
